Alberto Massarese si avvicina al cinema e al teatro come disegnatore. Dopo aver conseguito una laurea a Reading, Inghilterra, Vive diverse esperienze professionali tra l'Europa e il Canada e vince nel 2009 una borsa Fulbright che lo porta in California dove ottiene un MA in Film Production dalla SDSU School of Theater, Television and Film, realizzando numerosi cortometraggi grazie ai quali riceve il prestigioso Kathleen Kennedy Student Award. Negli ultimi anni ha intensificato la sua attività di regista teatrale allestendo e lavorando su varie produzioni spaziando tra live art, prosa e melodramma. La sua estetica ed il suo stile si muovono operando sul terreno dell'intersezione tra i diversi codici espressivi con una particolare attenzione agli effetti di percezione per cui allo spettatore e' dato vedere la realta' e il suo  sottinteso onirico.

Alberto Massarese is a young Italian film and theater director.He graduated from the University of Reading in 2000 and was later awarded a Fulbright scholarship to pursue a Master's degree in film production at San Diego State University where he received the prestigious Kathleen Kennedy Student Award to complete his thesis. The aesthetics of his films are often distinguished by a particular stagey and surreal look due to his theatrical background and his past as a painter. Alberto's visions often revolve around the thin boundaries that can be found between sanity and insanity, dream and reality.​
